Certified Compostable Filter Paper
For years, Magnera has been producing Dynagreen® filter paper, certified biodegradable and compostable, for pods and capsules.
Thanks to the heat-sealable layer made of PLA fibers—a plant-based plastic material—this compostable filter paper is ideal for those seeking a “green” alternative to conventional heat-sealable filter paper. Certified compostable by DIN CERTCO, it has successfully passed all required testing. Dynagreen® compostable filter paper is supplied with all the certifications needed by coffee roasters to certify their finished products.
Available in the range for over 15 years, Magnera filter papers have successfully completed the certification process and are declared compostable in accordance with the European standard UNI EN 13432.
Currently available grades:
- 612 – 12.7 gsm – non-heat-sealable – for tea and herbal infusion bags
- 117/9/D – 16.5 gsm – for tea and herbal infusion bags
- 121/9 – 21.5 gsm – for espresso pods (ESE) or soft pods
- 125/9 – 25 gsm – for pods or capsules
- 138/9 – 38 gsm – for capsules
All these papers are tested and can be used on all pod or capsule machines currently on the market without any modification to machine settings compared to traditional filter papers normally used.
Custom Printed Compostable Filter Paper
Compostable certified filter paper is available in a custom printed version featuring a generic logo pattern, even for small quantities. The print—designed to immediately highlight the compostable nature of the paper—is made using inks suitable for this application, including green color options.
This version represents an excellent opportunity for manufacturers who wish to emphasize to end consumers the compostability of their pods.
