Emitters and Powders
VpCI Emitters provide multi-metal corrosion protection for electrical and electronic components housed in enclosed, non-ventilated cabinets and control panels. The vapors released by the emitters form a molecular protective layer on metal surfaces, safeguarding the delicate, critical, and high-value components of electronic equipment from corrosion during storage and transportation.
VpCI Emitters are a cost-effective solution that is quick and easy to install, providing continuous corrosion protection for up to 24 months, even while the equipment is in operation. Effective in humid and polluted environments, they do not affect the electrical, optical, or mechanical performance of the protected equipment.
VpCI Powders protect both ferrous and non-ferrous metals from corrosion, even in hard-to-reach areas, internal cavities, and enclosed voids. They provide highly effective dry corrosion protection within enclosed spaces, as the protective molecules vaporize and deposit onto all metal surfaces, forming a continuous protective layer.
Film
Carte Dozio was the first company in Italy to develop a 400-micron shrink film for covering export crates, replacing the heavy and hazardous sheet metal traditionally used for this purpose. This innovation revolutionized the packaging process, making it simpler and safer while allowing crates to be stacked without the risk of tearing or damage.
In response to customer requirements, Carte Dozio introduced Metalbold® in 2017. This special shrink film is designed to withstand temperatures as low as -55°C (-67°F). Even under extremely cold conditions, its advanced polymer blend maintains outstanding tensile strength and tear resistance.
Green Shield® is an excellent alternative to traditional wooden crate packaging. It reduces storage space requirements and the associated costs while providing effective impact protection, replacing conventional wooden slat protection systems.
The white shrink film completes our range of technical films. Used across a wide variety of industries, it is one of the most widely requested solutions for industrial packaging, offering reliable protection and versatility for numerous applications.
Liquids
VpCI liquids from Cortec are available in oil-, water-, and solvent-based formulations. They can be applied by brush, roller, dipping, or spraying.
Oil-based products protect in two ways: through a highly resistant and durable oil film that adheres to the metal surface, providing the traditional protection of a high-quality oil, and through VpCI vapor-phase and contact corrosion protection, which significantly enhances the oil’s anti-corrosion performance. The corrosion inhibitors condense and form an effective protective barrier on metal surfaces that are not in direct contact with the oil. This combination ensures complete protection of all metal surfaces. They can also be used as additives for lubricating, hydraulic, or preservative oils. They provide excellent protection for equipment stored indoors or under covered outdoor conditions.
Water-based liquids are used as an alternative to oils for the protection of machinery and components stored in sheltered environments. Their wide dilution range allows the level of protection and the cost per square meter to be adjusted according to customer requirements. Water-based solutions can be applied by dipping or spraying and are suitable for the protection of both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Solvent-based products are penetrating and releasing agents with exceptional anti-corrosion properties. The VpCI technology penetrates deeply through rust and into crevices, displacing moisture and freeing seized mechanisms. The product’s ability to displace and replace water, spread rapidly, adhere firmly to metal surfaces, and provide both lubrication and drying action allows it to release and protect metal parts even under extreme conditions.
Accessories
Complementary products to technical films and corrosion inhibitors. Desiccant bags, heat-shrinking guns, and special adhesive tapes are available. The adhesive tapes have been selected because they allow the packaging to be completed with shrink films, thanks to their special properties. Both Thermotape and PolarTape function as splicing tapes or joining tapes with high-strength adhesives. PolarTape has been selected for finishing packaging made with METALBOLD. Both products are resistant to very low temperatures, ensuring that equipment can be shipped even to regions with extreme climate conditions.
Paper
Through a constant release of small amounts of active anticorrosive substances (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor principle), VCI paper protects metal parts from oxidation during transport and storage. The VCI molecules sublimate, creating a protective atmosphere inside the packaging that prevents the metal from oxidizing. Even if the package is briefly opened, the protective environment is immediately re-established. The anticorrosive paper works both in contact and at a distance.
It can be used for individual packaging, as interleaving material, or for lining the inside of packaging.
It provides corrosion protection for various types of metals: steel, cast iron (contact only), zinc, copper, chrome, bronze, brass, and aluminum.
